Tiger Pack Asalto 2007
It was a bitter-sweet feeling hosting our favorite volleyball players to a merienda treat held at the UST Gym Annex, with the help and support of Mrs. Felicitas Francisco. Our Women's Team failed to defend their crown, which everyone expected them to do since at one point during the season, they went 8-0. Bannered by Most Valuable Players Mary Jean Balse and Venus Bernal, the team eventually placed 4th. In just a few months, long-time coach August Sta. Maria suffered a stroke, adding to the gloom. He is now on the road to recovery.
On the otherhand, the Men's Team was not supposed to go far, as perennial powerhouse FEU is focus to defend the crown they have held for the past 3 straight years. Bannered by reliable and tested players such as Reni John Balse and Rey Karl Dimaculangan, with talented rookies Jayson Ramos and John Paul Torres, the team extended their tournament appearance until the last day of the competion, winning Games 1 and 3 of the Finals against FEU lead by Edjet Mabayad. It was worth the wait as Coach Emil Lontoc and Assistant Coach Odjie Mamon has mentioned.
The Asalto 2007 was hosted by Ms. Kazel Kagahastian and Mr. Patrick Flancia.
